IMG_2013Last night I went into Vons at College Blvd/Hwy 76 in Oceanside, CA to get some balloons for daughters birthday. It took about 10 minutes to get someone to help at balloon station and when someone finally came, the guy inflated one balloon, didn’t tie a knot in it and it deflated. The clerk then begins to tell me that he can’t tie knots in balloons and that he doesn’t know how to do any of this. He asks if I could inflate, tie knots, and attach ribbon to them for him…basically, can I do all of this myself. He tells me his manager isn’t there so it is fine. Just come behind the counter and do it myself and he will proceed to stand there doing nothing.

I do inflate, tie, and ribbon the balloons because I need them to be there when my daughter wakes up.VONS charges $7.99 + tax for one Mylar and 5 latex balloons. I got one Mylar and 4 latex as I only needed 5 total balloons.

I get my bunch of balloons and head to the checkout stand where I now get to wait for 15 more minutes in line to get to the cashier. Chris, store supervisor, was the checker. I let him know that I have one less balloon than their bundle price, I did all of the work myself, and waited a long time. Needless to say, I asked for a discount from the $7.99 + tax cost. Chris said no. I was charged full price. I blew up the balloons and was charged nearly $9.00 for that priveledge. Not good customer service at all VONS. VONS blows!
